G 2ND Birthday

Today we celebrated G's 2 ND birthday he doesn't turn two until the 3 rd of November. We had a blast today. Even though nether of my sisters made out or my best friend for that matter but a new friend and am old coworker made it as well as Aunt Jo and Uncle Kent. As always the best part was the big box lol. The theme was veggie tales and the kids loved it. We had games and prizes as well as cake I made it he he over all it was a big hit. Hope we make it to next year!!!

Spina Bifida 5K run

Our day started at 5 am today. We were headed to North Platte Nebraska for the Spina Bifida run.
W was going to run in the kids 1 mile fun run but decided to run with me instead witch was good because he got 3Rd place in his age group G got a metal to and we all won door prizes. Some friends and family also came out to support TEAM GARRETT my friend K got third place over all and first in his age. It was fun and the boys want to show off there medals!!

Sick child scams!!

Ok ask who out there hasn't had a post on their Facebook about prayers for so and so? I get them all the time!! Found out today that one of them is a fake. Prayers for Ella Rose is a scam!! This angers me and I may just be sour anyway do to personal things but I have two children that have special needs, more so than some of the pages I have seen. I do not believe my children need prayer pages or donations! We do just fine the way we are, but the point here is how could someone have enough screws loose in their brain to exploit a child sick or not to the point of taking money from people that seem to do nothing more than care about a child they belive needs their help. This sickens me if I find out anyone takes one of my boys and dose this. So help me God. I won't need the help they will!! I just do not understand, some peoples children.

Why do children not only not understand Saturday mornings, but also have no concept of why there is a bed time? W has school in the morning and his bed time is at 8 he is still doing the I need the bathroom can I get a drink thing at 10 I need to fig out a way to show him if you don't go to sleep you will be tired tomorrow.

Saturday mornings

What is it about kids and weekends? My boys have no concept of weekends at all!! 6 am Saturday morning, ma ma I up!!!  And going back to bed is out of the question because with in 5 min I have not one but two sets of arms and legs jabbing me in every soft surface of my body, as the arms and legs giggle uncontrollably." Oh I give up tickle monster, ahhhhhh." G my youngest screams with all that unbelievable cuteness of a one year old. as my oldest W giggles with anticipation of his encounter with the monster. OH SATURDAY MORNINGS MAY YOU NEVER CHANGE!!!

Cloth Diapers

About 2 weeks ago now I started using cloth diapers. Not the old fashion kind but the fancy new ones with 3 ply terry cloth inserts. I love these diapers I had used cloth diapers with my oldest W when we lived in Kansas but in Nebraska if your child goes to day care they do not allow cloth diapers. so from day one I had been using the disposable ones on G BUT. Because I have been at home with the boys I figure what the hey. Here are the Bonus's on cloth diapers.
1. Cheaper
2. helps you keep you with laundry
3. Good for the environment
4. Supposed to make potty training MUCH MUCH easier

I can contest to number 4 personally I had W all but potty trained before we had moved to Nebraska. He had been cloth diapered for some time and using the cloth pull up under roo's. Now when we moved to Nebraska he refused to go in the potty because he had on pull ups with lighting McQueen on them OH MY GOODNESS.    It had taken me until 4 weeks before he was 4 to get him to start to potty in the toilet again :(

Now G seems to like them to. He doesn't complain any way and is getting way less irritation on his little bottom  :) YIPPPEEE MOMMY!!!

I would recamend the ones with snaps thought, because the ones with Velcro are all right but the Velcro comes apart in the wash some times then you have like 20 things stuck to Velcro in the dryer UGGG! Also if you have hard water or like to use the good smelling laundry detergent I would recamend using Rock-in-Green Detergent it comes is really yummy sent's like watermelon, and Motley Clean. You can find it on just about any on-line retailer. like E Bay, and Amazon.

The red one is a Velcro diaper with the fuzzy strip all the way across the front and the two tabs on the sides are the scratchy ends

I also have a close friend who use's cloth diapers with her LO's They are much easier than they used to to. And if you live in a big city they may even have diaper services. Not I, we live in a rule area but we can still be mind full of the environment, and save money at the same time even to Po dunk Nebraska.

Religous VS. Commercial Easter!

So with the holiday weekend just behind us I was wondering, which Easter do you celebrate, religious or commercial?  I head up a play group here in town and we did an Easter egg hunt and, celebrated Easter the way I know how to. In doing this I learned that maybe I should take religion out of the play group. As take home activity I gave out a recipe for Resurrection rolls. I thought it was a good idea, ha ha ha. One of the dads was like "Jesus we are talking about Jesus". I as a somewhat semi not sure what the heck I am Christian was like, "really Easter is all about Jesus and his death and Resurrection," but this opened another conversation between my friends and I, If we want our children to know what the "Holidays" are actually about how do we do that with out getting rid of the commercial part all together. I know all about how the Christian holidays being based more on Celtic/Pagan Sabots more so than the days and symbols of the Christian part of the holiday. Easter is one of the holidays I feel the point has gotten way off course. How about you guys?

Sibblings

When you are younger siblings are awesome. Someone to have around at all times, for and inpromtu sleepover, or someone to play with always. I have two sisters one older and one younger. My older sister and I have had about the same relationship as long as I can remember. It is the kind of relationship that you deal with each other when need be but don't go out of your way to see or do something for them. My little sister on the other hand has been my best friend my whole life until the past year or so. We shared a room and had the same friends growing up, it was great. Even as we got older we lived together for a couple years. Then she moved about 4 hrs away. All the while we would call each other everyday and she would come visit or me there at least once a month or so. Then she meet her now husband. I know where you think this is going, but nope he didn't change much he mostly just added to the fun! As she and her husband came around and we there, my children and I. It became apparent that we as a family worked well together. Then my older sister who has been away with the Army for years now decides it is time to move home. Awesome maybe I can work on building a relationship with her. Yep this is it. When she first moves here the Army wont bring her stuff for a week or so, so I send an air bed sheets pillows stuff she may need. She gladly excepts. Then her stuff arrives and it is her and her 9 month old son to unpack, again I with a 4 yr old and a 2 month old pack up and go to help yet again and she again gladly excepts.Then a month or so latter i have to move no help comes my way at all, don't get me wrong there have been way more incidents then just this in that first year she was here. I came to understand that help only comes from her when she feels it is warranted from her end and is convince for her. Well here is the sad part apparently since she has been gone my little sister decided to try and build a relationship too, good for her, but it worked. Now my sisters are best friends and I am left out, never called no one has come to visit me or my children in a YEAR  I have to go to them. My younger sister called a few nights ago and says "what are you doing on Sunday?" I get so excited someone is coming to see me and my kids to spend time and go on walks and what nots. Well the next day I call her for some reason and say something about hanging out at my house just to find out she wants me to go to her yet again at my older sisters house. So at this point I am about to say SCREW ALL OF YA. I had made planes with her to come and go to the Y with me on Monday morning and she said it would be fun. Yet I still have to go to her 40 miles away just to comeback home. I just don't get some people and I am very hurt for me as well as my boys, who love their aunt and uncle but they never call or come see. OK my rant is over sorry.

This is my first day opening this blog, and this first post will simply show me how it works, as well as let you readers. Ha Ha like I have any, learn a little about me in the process. So Here go's Nothing World Look out.

My name is Amber I am a single mom who stays at home, with my 2 very handsome boys. There is W he is 5 Years old, a Dec 06' baby. Then there is G he is 16 mon. as of today, he is a Nov 10' baby. 

OK now i am sure most of you if not all are wondering how i am a stay at home mom, as well as single. I am a student right now with all of my class's online. I worked at a Nursing Home before.

We live in rule Nebraska, and love it!!! I moved up here from Kansas in June of 10'.  We are just now almost two years latter getting to know some people around here.

I Co-Head a Local Play Group with, well about the best friend I have around here, and am a full time student Major Nursing Minor Early Childhood Ed. Right now being my first time back to school in 10 years I am doing it all online.  So I could be at home with my boys for a little while as well.
